Crookshanks’ view of the trio.
I like the new house me and my girl live in. It has soft cushions, a warm kitchen, and the elf gives me food whenever I demand it.

Dawn sun is warm lap time. Bottom of the cereal bowl milk time. Soft dressing gown purr time.
“Careful with those claws, Crookshanks.”
But oh, I just can’t help it. Soft lap, cushiony snugly dressing gown, full belly, heaven.
“You’re just an old saggy cloth cat, Crookshanks, but Hermione loves you.”
It means love and security. Home. No hurts or hits. No ‘bad cat’. Only warm lap, hot fire, full belly happiness.

The ginger kit, he pretends.
Pretends not to enjoy the lap-time.
But he knows just where to stroke me to make me purr and roll on my back.
He has knowledgeable hands. Strong, soft hands.
The green eyed kit likes his strong, soft touch too.
They like their mating hard against the kitchen table and soft in the bed.
I saw my kit peeping on them once, as I prowled the house. Watching them.
They turned and smiled at her as they groomed one another, and she stroked herself.
I caught a mouse.
Now they all sleep together in the same bed. They share their mating and their warmth. As it should be.
As it should be.

Stiff legs now. Grey, fuzzy world now. No wanderings or prowling now.
Who will keep them safe now?
Not hungry, just sleepy.
She.
The bushy haired one, my kit, my favourite one, my girl.
She softly strokes my fur. Behind my ear, just how I like it.
And I drift away on sleep.
