It has been a while since I've made one of these official announcements here at![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
hp_misfitfics, as I generally do most of my modly work behind the scenes, but I wanted to let you know about a couple of things as well as to share some new ideas that I have for the community.
First and foremost, I am very proud to announce our affiliation with the new Harry Potter rare pairs community,variety_is! I hope that you will all take a moment to check them out and enjoy the variety of rare pairings that are featured there.
I am also considering beginning to host a monthly challenge here athp_misfitfics. It will be very low pressure, there will be no sign-ups, and entries for past challenges will always be welcome and accepted. The theme of the challenge will vary, sometimes it might be a specific character, and sometimes it will be a prompt of some kind. The whole idea is to simply create some inspiration for our authors to create some new gen fic to share with our community.
Now another thing that I have been considering is to begin posting a monthly digest of the Gen fic that has been posted here onhp_misfitfics. I will also include any pieces of Harry Potter gen fic that has not been posted to our community, that I stumble across that I think is utterly fantastic. The monthly digest will also feature an older story or two, and any relevent news related to this community or to our new affiliate, variety_is.
I hope that you will please take a moment to fill out the following polls, and/or leave any feedback about your feelings on the ideas I've just shared as I would very much like to know what you all think.

Finally, I just want to say how excited I am by how much our little community has grown and thrived since we began back in 2007! I hope that you all will continue to post and encourage your friends to share their gen fic here with us. I look forward to seeing all of the fantastic work that is yet to come!
