Welcome new members!!!!

I am so beyond excited! hp_misfitfics appears to actually be taking off!!!

In just one week of operation we now have twenty members and twenty-four watchers! There have been ten stories posted and seven of them were posted by authors other than myself! I can't tell you how happy that has made me, and I encourage you all to keep it up:)


In terms of community promotion things seem to be going very well thus far. I have posted an announcement of Misfits opening on hp_directory, and we were graciously mentioned on yesterday's newsletter at hogwarts_today. Do any of our wonderful new members know of any other newsletter communities I can get the word out to?

I also have to give huge hugs and thank yous to earth_dragon, knic26, and oncelikeshari for the wonderful pimps!

Also an extra special thank you goes to hedwigs_bane who not only pimped the community on his own journal, but also on hrroundrobin, and bestmeatsawards!


In terms of organization, I'm striving to make searching for fics on hp_misfitfics as easy as possible. The memory feature will be used as an author directory so that you can find all the stories submitted to the site by a specific author. The tags are currently organized by genre and rating, and I have been considering also organizing it by characters.


I welcome and encourage you to submit any ideas you might have to make the community better in the comments. Thank you, all of you for joining, watching, and supporting this little idea of mine. You have made me extremely happy:)

Hi! This community is a great idea. I followed the link over from hogwarts_today last night. You could also try quibbler_report or daily_snitch, I think.

Now I need to go grab a few of my older fics for posting. :)

Thanks so much for the tips:) I contacted both places you suggested, and daily_snitch was remarkably fast in the reaction time. Misfits was mentioned in their newsletter not ever a hour later!

I think it's definitely a good idea to tag by character.

No wonder this idea has taken off, it was a very good idea. I can't believe someone hadn't thought of it sooner! lol congrats, I'll bet that it is extremely popular in the future!

I decided to do just that for the characters, but for sanity's sake I decided against putting author tags. You can search for fics by author through the memories feature, as I am keeping that up to date as new posts come in:)

Yes, this looks like the beginnings of a great community! hedgwigs_bane directed me here when I asked for help betaing a story and will definitely be posting it here when I fix all the mistakes the betas have found in it!

Here I am trying to be good and trying to stay caught up, and you post A DOZEN fics at a shot. Grrrrrr. Gonna take me a while to comment on all those!

But things are really taking off now, aren't they! Congrats!
