Challenge of the Month: The Ministry of Magic

Hello everyone!

I'm very pleased to present our very first Challenge of the Month here at hp_misfitfics!

Stories for this challenge should be centered around the theme of The Ministry of Magic.


Challenge Rules

You may interpret the challenge prompt in any way that you wish.

There is no word minimum or maximum- feel free to write as much or a little as you wish.

In your header information, you must state that your story was written for: The Ministry of Magic challenge at hp_misfitfics.

While we ask that you please try to post your entry here at hp_misfitfics during the month of February, this is intended to be a very low pressure challenge and submissions for past challenges will always be welcome and accepted.

Do we need to sign up for this, or is this just something along the lines of "write it, submit it, get it in by 28 Feb."? Either way, I've got something brewing, which is making me very excited!

There's no sign-ups and no pressure:)

If the challenge speaks to you, write something and just post it to misfits whenever you're finished. Hopefully, that will be sometime in February, but if you end up finishing after the month has passed, it's not a problem so be sure to post it anyway:)

BTW, did you see the digest post (http://community.livejournal.com/hp_misfitfics/39808.html)? That's the one I wanted you to keep an eye out for!

I did see that, it looks great! I like the format, etc. Maybe this will start pumping some life back into the group?

Wanted to get your opinion on something - If you had to pick a canon character to be head of Hufflepuff during Teddy and Victoire's time in school, who would it be? This is absolutely vital to the one story I'm writing for the challenge. Not really. I may end up just creating an OC, but I wanted to get some thoughts.

I wanted you to look at it because one of your stories was in the Featured Older Story section. Stories in that section are recs, and not simply a mere listing.

Now, a canon character...ponders...

I would have chosen Hannah Abbott, only we know she ends up running a pub rather than joining the teaching profession, so that doesn't work. Susan Bones perhaps, I can't see Justin Finch-Fletcher as a head of house for some reason.

Well, I gathered as much, but I'm trying to be modest here? Maybe overmuch... Thank you for sticking that in there, though, it is appreciated.

I'm sad that the majority of the 'Puffs we know are just from Harry's year. I wish that had been expanded on more. Not just that house, but others as well. Of course, the books would have each been War and Peace with everything we *Wish* she'd put in... Thanks for the suggestions! And no, I can't really see JFF taking that position, either...
