Oh this was brilliant.

Quite often the Dursley's are portrayed as absolutely horrid people in the HP fandom world. Where they physically abuse to various degrees or I even read some stories where they rape him, I stopped reading those. And while I understand that portraying them as lovely people wouldn't be very IC, I always stop reading stories were the abuse just goes way over the top.

But this was just brilliant. Your portrayal was so spot on. You really captured all of their characters. I loved the way how you started of with them not really seperating Harry from their daily lives and then how you showed through little scenes how it ended up like in HP book 1. like for example the scene where she is cooking and can't pick up Harry because she is already holding Dudley and she sends him away or those little scenes you showed how she started to really hate Lilly, magic and thus also Harry because he automatically outshines Dudley.

This was all so believable and what I thought made this such a great fic was how you could understand everybody's point of view. You got why Petunia was slowly starting to loose it, you understood why Harry kept crying and I even understood Vernon and his logic behind putting Harry in the cupboard, which I'm obviously not condoning but I do get. And Petunia's voice was just captured so amazingly, all that frustration and these two feelings that just couldn't mesh and her guilt and completely at the end her just feeling so tired and resigned.

This could quite easily have been the real beginning to Harry Potter's muggle life.
